Dr. Gladys Camp has led Thomson Elementary since 2001. She is the winner of numerous awards including the Washington Post’s 2006 Distinguished Principal of the Year for the District of Columbia and NAESP‘s National Distinguished Principal for Washington, D.C. in 2007.

Dr. Camp holds an M.A. from George Washington University and an Ed.D. from The University of Maryland. As an experienced and devoted principal, she is committed to providing an excellent education to every child, every day. An accomplished musician herself, Dr. Camp ensures that all students receive regular music instruction and she teaches guitar classes as well.
